If your differential is howling we can quiet it down.  Usually all that is required is some bearings.  This one was howling like crazy.

This is what the worn bearings looked like.

You have to cut the bearings off the inner race to see the inner race.    Here’s the bearings and cages.

Not worn bearing

One of the axles was worn.

We use a product called a axle saver in most circumstances where the axle is worn.  This saves you from buying a new expensive axle by relocating the bearing surface to an unworn area of the axle.    Here’s the axle saver

The other axle was fine so we just used a normal axle bearing and seal.  Here’s a pic of the new bearing and seal.

the failing bearings make a little metal and so we clean out the differential housing and axle tubes to make sure the metal doesn’t damage your new bearings.  Here’s the clean housing.

This rear end had  Positraction as well.  heres the pics of the posi clutches.

One of them were broken so we had to replace some of these parts as well.  Here’s the broken one.

After we finished up the differential was nice and quiet again.  We saved this customer bunches of money as some other shop had recommended replacing the rear end with a used one for over about double what we charged to fix this one.
